LET THERE BE ROCK: Melbourne Gets 'Thunderstruck'!
April 28, 2004To coincide with the release of the AC/DC-inspired movie "Thunderstruck" (web site),Melbourne's retro hard rock nightclub Back In The Day (web site) is handing over a free movie pass to the first 150 people through the door from 9:00 p.m. this Saturday, May 1, thanks to Icon Films. Australia's premier AC/DC tribute band LET THERE BE ROCK (featuring ex-BACK IN BLACK/THUNDERSTRUCK tribute band members) will be playing some live AC/DC numbers between 11:30 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. Party-goers can also have the chance to join the band on stage and sing AC/DC hits karaoke-style with the backing of the live band, as one of the ways to win further giveaways of "Thunderstruck" movie packs, posters, and soundtrack CDs. DJing on the night will be Paul Miles of the popular MÖTLEY CRÜE web site Chronological Crue, who will be playing all the usual Back In The Day hard rock hits and retro memories from the '70s and '80s. Back In The Day rocks the first Saturday of every month at the Portland Hotel, corner of Little Collins and Russell St. in Melbourne, one block up from where AC/DC filmed their video clip for "It's A Long Way" on the back of a truck along Swanston Street.
